The Matchbox sale to be held on the 30th of June starts with The North Wales Collection, boxed and unboxed, groups and single lots, of Matchbox Superfast, road and racing cars, commercials, coaches, emergency vehicles, many with transitional boxes, plus, Speed Kings, Super Kings, US issue blister packs, twin packs and gift sets. Further items in the sale include Matchbox Superfast, Super Kings, and Regular Wheels. The sale will conclude with The Ex Lesney Employee Collection, 94 lots of factory final trial castings, pre-production colour trial models, bare metal castings and factory components.
The Model Train sale to be held on the 25th of June started with OO Gauge British Outline from Hornby (China), Bachmann, Lima, Heljan and others, followed by HO Gauge ex-shop stock items from Genesis, Bachmann, Athearn, Atlas, and Broadway Limited Paragon series, plus further HO gauge from Liliput by Bachmann, Marklin, Fleischmann, and Roco. The sale continued with N Gauge, Hornby Dublo, Brass and OO Kits/Kitbuilt. The sale also included Meccano & Other Constructional Toys, Live Steam, G Gauge, Gauge 1 & Larger, Hornby, further and modern O Gauge. There was a Single Owner Collection featuring Hornby O Gauge tank locos, locomotive and Tender, passenger coaches, goods wagon and rolling stock, plus engine sheds, track and accessories, plus further items form Basset Lowke, Leeds, Bing and Marklin. The sale concluded with Books, Magazines & Catalogues, Railwayana, Pictures & Prints and our usual good selection of General Trains.
The Tinplate and General toy sale held on the 22nd of June started with 153 lots of tinplate and plastic, including pre and post war Triang Minic cars, lorries, buses and trains. There were Wells tinplate clockwork vehicles, items from Mettoy, Lehmann, Triang, Mobo, plus other German, Spanish, Russian, American and further manufacturers. There was a nice selection of large scale scratch/kit built boats, plus smaller boats and pond yachts. The sale also included scarce Tipp & Co Mercedes models, and Japanese made friction drive cars. The General Toys included Corgi, Oxford Diecast, EFE, Lledo, Matchbox, Lansdowne and many more, including Heavy Haulage and Aviation Archive. The sale included military war gaming figures, ships and aircraft; Atari boxed games, 7? and 12? vinyl records, cabinets, books, DVDs, and board games, plus much much more.
Masudaya (Modern toys of Japan) non-stop lavender robot. This sought after battery operated robot from 1959 is often referred to as The lady robot due to its form. There were not many of this particular robot produced and indeed this is the first to be sold at Vectis.
Consigned by the original purchaser, the robot is in fantastic condition, although its head is loose but still attached, it is great for display and will be highly sought after by collectors.
The Matchbox Sale held on the 15th of June featured 413 lots of Matchbox models and ephemera, plus The Calgary Collection, a private owner collection of Regular Wheels and Superfast models, boxes and gift sets. The sale included groups and single lots of Matchbox Models of Yesteryear, including code 2 and 3 models; retail ephemera, catalogues, models from the Giftware series, Super Kings; boxed, blister pack and gift sets from Superfast, and empty box groups.
