Its not always about the large valuable collections here at Vectis, as a small family business, we like the personal touch too.

One particular story that caught our eye, is that of an 80 year old lady, who contacted us as she had been having a sort out during lockdown, and found a model which had been put way in a draw many years ago.

She can?t remember why, maybe it was taken away as a reprimand and forgotten about, or maybe it was just tidied away. But a series of handwritten letters later, and the model is with Vectis, waiting to be auctioned on the 28^th of October.

The Regular Wheels 65c Combine Harvester is only valued at ?15 by our auctioneer, however as the vendor states in her letter, that money will be more helpful to her than nothing, and she?d rather not see a perfectly good toy resigned to the dustbin.

Our Specialist did advise in his first reply that this model has a rare variation, one without a central hole on a solid base, had the lady had this version she would be looking at putting the model into auction at ?600, alas as she describes it herself, she has never been one of these lucky people and has the much more common model with the central hole.

It is always worth contacting the experts, just in case you are that lucky one and hold the rare variation in your hands.

The TV and Film related sale held on the 29^th of October featured a large selection of boxed Lego sets, including ex shop stock, from Super Heroes, Batman, Star Wars, Creator, City and many more. Further items included figures and accessories from Dr Who, Ghostbusters, Star Trek, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Master of the Universe, plus collections of Power Rangers, Transformers, Marvel and DC, Action Man and GI Joe. The sale also included vintage games consoles and games, diecast vehicles, posters, books, comics and a large collection of modern and vintage Star Wars figures, vehicles, collectables, costumes and accessories.

The General Toy sale to be held on the 21^st of October also included a large selection of Tinplate and Plastic items, plus model trains. The sale started with large groups of boxed and unboxed models from Matchbox, Corgi, Lledo, Dinky, EFE, Oxford Diecast and many others. Further lots included Meccano, Remote Control vehicles, Kits, wargaming items, football memorabilia, cabinets, board games, jigsaws and books. Tinplate and plastic items included Triang, Wells, Chad Valley, Schuco plus many others and featured cars, boats, aircraft, space and novelty toys and Steam engines and accessories. There were a number of trains and sets from Bassett Lowke, Marklin and Hornby plus Meccano Sets and Outfits.

The Model Train sale held on the 22^nd of October started with OO Gauge British Outline from Hornby (China), Hornby Railways, Bachmann and Lima, followed by HO Scale American Outline, including ex-shop stock items, manufacturers included Broadway Limited Paragon Series, MTH, Athearn, Bowser Executive Line, Atlas and Walthers, plus many others. Further items included Hornby Dublo 2 & 3-rail, Triang Railways, Wrenn and Trix/Liliput. The sale continued with OO Gauge Kits/Kitbuilt, Exley OO Gauge, HO Brass and Meccano & Other Constructional Toys, plus Live Steam, Gauge 1 & Larger, Hornby O Gauge, Further O Gauge, Modern and Kits/Kitbuilt. The sale concluded with a Single Owner O Gauge Collection, Railwayana, Books, Magazines, Prints, Photographic Art, and our usual good selection of General Trains

The Big 1/43^rd scale collection held on the 14^th of October featured over 450 lots of road and racing cars, in single lots and groups. All models include a perspex case, box, or both. Manufacturers included ATC, Autoart, BBR Models, HPI Racing, Ignition Models. Plus, Kyosho, Look Smart, Matrix and Minichamps. There was a large selection of Neo or similar, plus Red Line Models, Schuco, Spark (Minimax), TSM Models and many more.
