Lot 832
Vintage Pedal Car. A well made and attractive vintage style pedal car probably dating from the 1920's. Red painted wooden body with black steel chassis, red spoked wheels with solid rubber tyres. Steering wheel with wooden rim. Metal starting handle. Pedal driven chain drive to rear axle. Twin brass carbide lamps mounted to scuttle. Wooden height adjustable driver's seat. Opening driver's door. Brass trim to bonnet and tops of doors. The quality and solidity of the engineering and carpentry suggest that this car would have been craftsman made or the body could possibly have been constructed on an earlier chassis. Although there is no maker's name, a plate bearing the number 35403 is attached under the rear of the body. Length 42"/107cm. Some signs of play wear and chipping to the paint but condition is generally Good Plus. This is a unique example of an early pedal car that displays well.
