David Cole was a Development Engineer for Corgi from 1969 until 1983. The team of just four engineers and one supervisor were responsible for the setup of the production lines for the assembly of the Diecast toys and to monitor the output for the maximum performance and efficiency.
Each engineer was assigned a new model and was responsible for its make-up and to design the tooling which would be required for the, then, all female staff to assemble each toy.
The selection of toys which are available in this sale are the first of each production run, each run would have a model put aside to be used as a 'standard' for all future lines of the model. Small production runs would also be required for special events and market promotions.
