The Mike Linham Fire Engine Collection held on the 20th of October featured over 600 lots of boxed and unboxed models, including Fire Engines, Fire Chief cars and vehicles, Station houses, boats and Horse Drawn wagons. The collection included scarce models, sets, presentation sets, trade boxes and kits and includes tinplate, plastic, pressed steel, and diecast. Manufacturers included Marklin, Schuco, Mettoy, Timpo, Chad Valley, Charles Rossignol, Hubley, and Lego plus Corgi, Dinky, Triang Spot-On, Lledo and many others.  

 

Dinky Set No.6 "Commercial Vehicles" to include 5 pieces - to include 25h Fire Engine - red including ladders, black ridged hubs and smooth tyres, with bell; 29b Streamlined Bus - grey, blue flashes, black ridged hubs with smooth tyres; 29c Double Decker Bus - two-tone grey, red, black ridged hubs and smooth tyres; 30e Breakdown Truck - red including jib with hook, black ridged hubs and smooth tyres and 30f "Ambulance" - cream body, black chassis and ridged hubs with smooth tyres, red crosses to sides - conditions are generally Good Plus to Excellent (although do have small chips on edges) still bright examples in a generally Good mottled lift off lid with paper label, base and inner packing piece are Good Plus - see photo.

Tekno (Denmark) "Falcks Rednings Korps" large wooden Fire Station Building with 4 x tinplate Fire Engines - the building is white, with red roof and 3 x double opening doors with latches, flag and clock to roof, 19"/48cm wide, 10"/26cm deep and 14"/36cm high. The fire appliances based on British Bedford pre-war vehicles include 2 x Fire Engines with hose reel drums and removable ladders, Rescue Tender with axes to sides and an Openback Truck - Good Plus to Excellent scarce impressive set, hard to find in this condition.

Dinky 298 "Emergency Services" Gift Set to include 258 Ford Fairlane "Police" Car - black, white door panels, solid red roof light, chrome spun hubs; 263 "Ambulance" - off white, red side flashes, chrome spun hubs, red solid roof light; 276 Fire Tender - red, chrome spun hubs, grey plastic nozzle, amber battery-operated roof light and 277 "Ambulance" - two-tone off white, blue, red battery-operated roof light - conditions appear to be generally Excellent to Excellent Plus beautiful examples complete with correct figures, hose accessories and folded leaflet in a generally Good Plus to Excellent presentation box (unpunched lid) - see photo.

Dinky 299 "Motorway Services" Gift Set to include 257 Nash Rambler "Fire Chief" Car - red including solid roof light, chrome spun hubs; 263 "Ambulance" - two-tone blue, off white, red battery-operated roof light; 269 Jaguar "Police" Car - white, solid blue roof light, grey plastic aerial (does have some discolouration to front and sides); 276 Fire Tender - red, grey plastic nozzle, amber battery-operated roof light and 434 Bedford TK Crash Truck "Top Rank Motorway Service" - white, red interior, dark green plastic hubs - conditions are generally Good Plus to Excellent Plus (unless stated) in a generally Good Plus presentation box - a beautiful example.

Triang Spot-On 805 "Tommy Spot" Set to include Land Rover "Fire Dept" - red, light beige plastic canopy, chrome spun hubs with black and red Trailer, chrome spun hubs, 2 x "Fireman" and "Tommy Spot" figures - conditions appear to be generally Excellent to Near Mint, inner pictorial stand is Excellent, outer window box is Good Plus a nice bright example.

Dinky 25h (250) Streamlined Fire Engine Trade Pack containing 6 examples - all finished in bright red including ridged hubs with black smooth tyres, silver ladders - all come complete with bells - conditions are generally Excellent to Near Mint (some have very small marks on protruding edges) in a Good Plus yellow lift off lid trade box with original dividers - see photo.

Dinky 285 Merryweather Marquis Fire Tender "Falck" - metallic red, silver, chrome hubs, with grey pipe - overall condition is generally Excellent (couple of small chips around door edges) in a Good window box, inner polystyrene tray is Excellent.

Dinky 286 Ford Transit Fire Appliance "Falck Zonen" - metallic red, METALLIC BLUE BASE, white interior, black aerial, cast hubs - Excellent (does have small chips on side protruding edges) still a bright example of a hard to find issue in a Fair (discoloured) bubble pack.

Lone Star Impy group of Fire Related to include 130 Merryweather Fire Engine - red, white ladder - another but with grey ladder - conditions are generally Excellent to Mint (very slight surface corrosion to bare metal parts) on Good to Good Plus blister cards and 432 twin pack to include Ford Taunus and Fire Engine - conditions appear to be generally Excellent to Near Mint (couple of small marks on sides) on a Good Plus blister card. Taylor & Barrett (T & B) Fire Engine and Escape - red, white, smooth tyres - with 4 x figures - overall condition is generally Excellent (couple of small chips on edges) still a beautiful example of a hard to find issue in a Good Plus buff lift off lid box with paper label.
