Military, Civilian Figures, Equipment & Accessories Featuring the Malcolm Vollands Collection
The gathering of long standing collector and part time dealer Malcolm Volland will be presented at auction on Friday 30th June. Many of you will know Malcolm from his regular appearances at the London Toy Show.
The interesting assembly comprises both contemporary and vintage figures, books, Toy Soldier magazine issues, military artwork and catalogues. Sets of classic Britains, Limited Editions, Collectors Club pieces, Timpo, CBG Mignot, Crescent, Charbens, Elastolin and Lineol are also included. Additionally there are Britains Lilliput, Military and Motorcycle Series.
One of the most fascinating pieces is Lot No. 6148 - a Britains 'Eyes Right' Set 3456 - Bahamas Police Band (circa, 1962/3), this group has never been seen before at Vectis and is an uncatalogued item from towards the end of production. It was given a catalogue number but it is thought not to have been given general release. The charming boxed gathering comprises a Drum Major with Baton, Bass Drum & 18 x Marching Musicians Playing various Correct Silver Instrumentation. An extremely rare set, which has been given a conservative pre-sale estimate of £200 - £300.
