The Hampstead collection which was auctioned on the 3rd of September featured a private owner collection of over 560 lots of pre- and post-war Dinky and French Dinky models. The collection was built up over many years and further items, including numerous Tinplate models were auctioned on the 4th of September. The first day included many boxed and unboxed variations, including cars, buses and coaches, wagons and lorries, pre-war gift sets, trade boxes and a good selection of Autogiro and other aircraft.

 

French Dinky Pre-war 22b Sports Coupe - red body, blue wheel arches, silver trim - Excellent a beautiful example of an early issue.

French Dinky (South African) 553 Peugeot 404 - pale green, red interior, chrome concave hubs with black tyres - Good still a bright example of a hard to find issue in a generally Good Plus to Excellent (some small scuffs on edges) yellow and red carded picture box.

French Dinky 24v Buick Roadmaster - ivory body, light metallic blue roof, silver including trim, chrome convex hubs with white smooth tyres - Near Mint a beautiful example in a Good Plus to Excellent yellow and red carded picture box (couple of very small scuffs on edges).

Dinky 413 (30s) Austin Covered Wagon - dark blue body, mid-blue metal tilt and ridged hubs with black smooth tyres - Excellent Plus a beautiful example in a Good Plus to Excellent yellow and red carded picture box with (dual numbered 30s/413 end flaps).

Dinky 40d Trade Box Austin Devon Saloon - pale blue, silver trim, mid-blue ridged hubs with black smooth tyres (small baseplate lettering) - Good Plus still a nice bright example in a Good yellow lift off lid trade box with "Hudson Dobson" label.

Dinky 44 Pre-war "AA" Set containing Motorcycle Patrol - yellow, black, white solid wheels, tinplate Hut and 2 x figures - conditions appear to be generally Good Plus to Excellent in a generally Good Plus blue lift off lid box, inner pictorial stand is Excellent - nice bright example.

Dinky 39c (1939-41) Lincoln Zephyr Coupe - green body, black smooth hubs, (lacquered base) - Good Plus (does have some small chips on side and mudguard edges) still a bright example.
