The Hampshire Diecast collection held on the 28th of January featured a large collection of Matchbox models in various livery’s, colour trials and promotional issues; model variations included Model T Vans, Rolls Royce, Stutz Bearcat, Packard Victoria, Mercedes Benz SS Coupe, Auburn Speedster 851, Ford Model A Woody Wagon, Bugatti T44, and preproduction Model A Vans. Further items in the sale included unused factory parts, Code 3 issues, Gift Sets and manuals. The sale also included Corgi Classics – buses, coaches, construction and Heavy Haulage, emergency vehicles, TV and Film related, Aviation Archive, plus EFE, Lledo, and others.

 

Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y7 1918 4-ton Leyland Van "W&R Jacob & Co Limited" - lighter brown body and chassis, cream roof, silver radiator shell, grenodised solid wheels with crimped axles, bare metal underside of roof, one piece decals with "By Royal Appointment" deleted - rare issue generally Excellent in a Fair type A box.

Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y4 1909 Opel Coupe - colour trial giftware model - white body, turquoise chassis with mounted lugs cast, smooth tan hood, bright red seats, colour trial black grille, open cast mudguard struts and brass 12-spoke wheels - Excellent Plus unboxed.

Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y15 1930 Packard Victoria - unlisted variation - metallic lime gold body with thin cast rear coachline, chrome plated chassis without mountain lugs, black textured hood, black luggage, dark red seats and grille and chrome solid wheels - Near Mint in a Good type H woodgrain window box.

Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y16 1928 Mercedes Benz SS Coupe pre-production colour trial model - charcoal body, darker red metallic chassis with cast differential and incomplete year to base, black seats, textured black hood, smooth rear luggage trunk, black grille, unplated parts including separate exhaust and brass 24-spoke wheels - Fair to Good some large chips to bonnet and chassis still an interesting early model, unboxed.
