The Specialist and Tinplate toy sale to be held on the 14th August features over 200 lots of tinplate and plastic toys from British, European, and Continental manufacturers. Lots include pre and post war vehicles from Triang Minic; cars, boats, space and novelty toys, aircraft, buses, trains and train sets including, clockwork, battery operated, and friction drive from Schuco, Timpo, Wells Brimtoy, Marx toys and many more. The Coventry Collection features boxed groups from Revell, Kyosho, Bburago, Franklin mint, Polistil, Vanguards and others; and The Dr Cornel Fleming Collection includes over 170 lots of military, space vehicles, and aircraft including plastic, white metal, and diecast from Corgi, Britains, Matchbox, and others. Further items in the sale include Mattel Hot wheels Rumblers, Lansdowne, Tudor Rose, books, games, vintage literature, displays and posters and much more.

 

Distler (Germany) 1950's large scale tinplate Electromatic 8000 Magirus Deutz tinplate battery operated Side Tipping Lorry - scarce example has a red cab, light green rear body. The top of the cab is removable to reveal a clean battery compartment, the side tipping rear body is in working order with winding handle and opening side gate, steerable front wheels, lacks the antenna to each front wing but does include the control cable, 12"/31cm long. A rare model - Excellent in a Good illustrated box (some minor glue repairs to the lid).

Early tinplate clockwork Old Lady with umbrella and miniature wicker basket, clockwork operation with permanent key in working order, moves in a circular motion and waddles from side to side, some paint loss particularly her arms and waist area but overall a Good unusual example dating from the turn of the 20th Century, 7"/18cm tall.

Mattel Hot Wheels TA 4995 "Rrrumblers" Rumblers Gift Set comprising 5 x Motorcycles including Lion Head with grey rider and yellow seat, Eagle Head in blue with purple rider plus 3 others - conditions are generally Near Mint, packaging is generally Good with some creasing edge wear and small tear to one corner, cellophane window is intact without any noticeable damage (some tape remains to edges of boxes).

Triang large pressed steel Routemaster Bus - red, with white interior, yellow steering wheel, Epsom Station desalination to front, side and rear, lacks the bell clapper to the underside and the side adverts are torn - otherwise a Good Plus bright example which still retains a Fair cardboard box marked "Double Decker Bus", circa early 1960's, 23"/58cm long.

J E Thomas Removers, Welsh Walls, Oswestry - an unusual large scale coloured Advertising Poster from the early part of the twentieth century featuring this well known haulage companies Steam Lorry and Trailer in vivid red and yellow livery, has been stored in a cardboard tube for many years and there is some tearing to the edges but otherwise a Good example of a period transport related poster produced by Julian Green Ltd of Leeds. The approximate dimensions are 79"/2m long x 30"/77cm high. Note the poster has been produced in two equal halves - otherwise Good.

A 1920's printed Transport Related Poster by Julian Green Ltd of Leeds (No.443) circa 1920 of a vintage solid tyred Petrol Removal Van in the red/yellow livery of J E Thomas Removers of Welsh Walls, Oswestry - is unmounted, and has been stored for years inside a cardboard tube, some light wear to the edges but overall a Good vivid example, 60"/153cm wide x 40"/101cm high.

Bandai (Japan) large tinplate "Ford Custom Ranch Wagon" - impressive tinplate friction drive example - red, with black roof, opening rear tailgate and detailed tinprinted interior - Excellent Plus to Near Mint, 12"/30cm long and comes in a Good card box with colourfully illustrated lid.
Estimate: £180 - £260
Lehmann (Germany) 671 "Taku" clockwork Torpedo Boat - scarce example from the early part of the 20th Century 9.5"/24cm long, grey hull and fittings, with tinprinted pale yellow deck, clockwork motor in working order propels the model along with an undulating motion - Good Plus example which has survived remarkably well.
