The sale held on the 18th of February started with 313 lots from The Denis Morgan Fire Engine Collection which included a number of vintage 1/48th scale models in white metal/resin from the well-respected Fire Brigade Models Company. These models are based on many actual British vehicles with the accent on the London Fire Brigade. Another well respected manufacturer is Ashton Models of the USA, their well detailed 1/43rd white metal fire trucks are highly sought after. Other quality makes included Franklin Mint, Schuco, Corgi, Minichamps, RSH, Dehanes, Original Classics, Code 3 Collectibles and many more. The sale continued with Matchbox models, including The JMR Collection of Regular wheels, Major and Accessory Packs, King Size and Yesteryear, plus Trade catalogues and Superfast; and The London Collection, which included early to mid-70s Superfast groups. The sale also included further Regular Wheels, Models of Yesteryear, King Size, Super Kings and Superfast.

 

Ashton Models "Boston Fire Department Tower" - comprising 1/43rd scale white metal model of a 1921 ALF Water Tower Trailer with separate Articulated Tractor Unit - both have drivers and are generally Excellent Plus to Near Mint although are unchecked for completeness and come in Excellent card boxes.

Matchbox Regular Wheels 58a BEA Airport Coach - dark blue body with mask sprayed silver trim, full colour decals both facing front, gloss black base, rare 18-tread silver plastic wheels - Near Mint with slight decal loss to edge of left hand decal & adhesive foam pad applied to rear base.

Matchbox Regular Wheels 61b Alvis Stalwart twin pack issue preproduction colour trial model - military green body & base with "3LGS64" labels both facing front, dark green windows, smooth black plastic wheels - Near Mint with adhesive pad attached to rear of base in Excellent "New Model" type E4 box. Production issues of this model have matt black base.

Matchbox Regular Wheels group of harder to find models. (1) 19d Lotus F1 Racing Car - orange body with racing number 3 decals - Good Plus in Good type F2 box illustrating correct colour of model; (2) 56b Fiat 1500 - red body with silver trim to grille & headlamps only, burnt sienna luggage, red interior with front extensions, black plastic base - Good Plus with some small paint chips & adhesive foam pad attached to rear of base in Good Plus a little dirty/stained from storage earlier period "New Model" type E2 box; (3) 68b Mercedes Coach - sea green body with silver trim, cast open axles - Good with considerable paint loss to right hand side of body in Good Plus creased on one striker side "New Model" type E1 box with colour printed inner end flaps. (3)

Matchbox Regular Wheels pair of unassembled factory bare metal components for the following models (1) un-spun body casting for 41a Jaguar D-type (does have factory casting flaw to left hand side of cockpit; (2) Trailer only for 27a Bedford Articulated Low Loader without rear braces cast (does have small factory casting flaw to left hand rear wheelarch - Excellent Plus. Matchbox Major Pack M2 Bedford TK Articulated Truck & Trailer "Davies Tyres" - orange tractor unit with silver trim, turquoise green windows, gloss black base, rare 45-tread grey plastic wheels, metallic silver trailer with orange rear doors & chassis - Excellent Plus in Good to Good Plus type D1 box printed by TP Packaging (scuff marks to dark striker side). Still a nice example of this rare model.

Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y5 1907 Peugeot - metallic gold body, metallic orange-gold roof, dark amber windows, black plastic grille & seats, rare light gold plated chassis, bare metal radiator surround & headlamps, bright red 12-spoke wheels - Near Mint unboxed with just a couple of minor marks. Rare model.

Matchbox Regular Wheels 19c Aston Martin DBR5 Racing Car - metallic green body with rare racing number 3 decals, gloss black base, wire wheels complete with grey plastic driver but driver is damaged & repainted - apart from driver & tyres requiring cleaning model is Excellent Plus with some paint loss to base lettering. Rare model to find in any condition with this racing number.

Matchbox Super Kings K41 JCB Excavator pre-production colour trial - white & red model with red interior & white plastic driver, original black rubber tracks, base without copyright date & without model number cast - Good unboxed (would benefit from cleaning).
