Specialist & Tinplate Toy Sale - Tuesday 10th October 2017
The Specialist & Tinplate Toy Sale held on the 10th of October featured over 600 lots; starting with Dinky and French Dinky Toys, including boxed and unboxed cars, trucks, aircraft and military. Further items included Corgi Chipperfield Circus, giftsets, boxed and unboxed cars and commercials and blister cards, plus TV & Film Related, Continental & Foreign, Slot Car Related and general diecast. The sale also contained two private owner collections, The Merseyside White Metal & Diecast Car Collection and The South Wales Diecast Collection, these included Brooklin and Lansdowne models, boxed Dinky and Corgi cars and commercials, wagons, F1, racing and rally cars and Corgi Whizzwheels. The sale concluded with 166 lots of Tinplate & Plastic featuring clockwork, friction drive and battery operated vehicles, locomotives and ships by Triang, Sutcliffe, Tonka, Schuco and many more.

Lot 31
Dinky No.3 "Passenger Cars" Gift Set to include Standard Vanguard Saloon; Austin "Taxi"; Morris Oxford Saloon; Rover 75 Saloon; Plymouth Estate Car and Daimler "Ambulance" - in a blue and white striped lift off lid box, inner carded tray and packing piece are reproduction.
Lot 73
Dinky tinplate "Filling & Service Station" - finished in pale blue, yellow, green - displays well.
Lot 141
Corgi No.GS16 Gift Set comprising of Ecurie Ecosse Racing Car Transporter - light blue, silver, pale yellow interior, spun hubs; 3 x Cars (1) No.150s Vanwall - red, flat spun hubs, racing No.25; (2) No.152s BRM - turquoise, flat spun hubs, racing No.7 and (3) No.154 Ferrari - red, spun hubs, racing No.36 in blue and yellow carded picture boxes, all display well, blue and yellow lift off lid box, nice bright example with correct inner packing pieces.
Lot 195
Corgi "James Bond" Original Artwork by "John Gilbert" - based on the Aston Martin DB5 (Ingot Issue) - this was won by the vendor in conjunction with the competition in the "Collectors Gazette" June 2014 - copy is enclosed - superb opportunity to acquire.

Tekno No.411 Volkswagen (type 1) Military "Ambulance" - finished in drab green, red and white cross decals to sides and rear - a bright unboxed example.

Tekno No.404 Volkswagen (type 2) Wrecker "Falck Zonen" - red, blue tinted windows - a beautiful unboxed example.

Tekno No.762 Harley Davidson Motorcycle with Sidecar - finished in drab military green, with white 5-pointed star decal to rear, comes with a carded picture box.
Lot 430
Corgi No.336 James Bond Toyota 2000GT- taken from the film "You Only Live Twice" - comprising white Toyota 2000 with 2 x figures, small mark to one side of opening boot. Comes mounted on an illustrated card display base and pictorial stand, the "Top Secret Documents" and missiles are still contained in a sealed bag in the lower compartment and all is contained in a crisp card box with inner packing piece.

Schuco Radio Car No.4012 - from the original series, the car is cream, with red seating and hubs, clockwork motor in working order with brake, retractable aerial, switch to dashboard plays clockwork musical movement "Rock a Bye Baby" - with key, instructions and an illustrated box.
Lot 503
Distler tinplate battery operated "Electro Matic 7500" large scale Porsche Opentop Car - red, with grey seating, detailed interior with steerable wheels and gear lever, the folded hood is removed to reveal a clean battery compartment - in an illustrated box with instruction leaflet and a bag containing Shell key fob and Distler quality control slip.
