The Model Train sale which was held on the 24th of July started with Part 2 of the St Martins Bay Collection, which featured OO Gauge British Outline and TMC Models from Hornby and Bachmann plus other manufacturers & accessories; HO Gauge American & Continental Outline, N Gauge and OO Gauge Kit & Kitbuilt. A further private owner collection, The CMM Collection, featured Hornby Dublo 2-rail, 3-rail and Accessories. The sale continued with further British Outline OO Gauge and Hornby Dublo 2 & 3-rail, plus HO Scale, Wrenn, Triang, Triang Minic and Triang TT; Z Gauge, Trix, Brass HO, OO Gauge Kitbuilt, Meccano & Other Constructional Toys, Live Steam, O Gauge and our usual good selection of General Trains.

 

Hornby Dublo clockwork pre-war DL1 4-6-2 LNER blue A4 Class No.4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley" no obvious signs of fatigue, condition Good Plus to Excellent in Good to Good Plus box dated 9/38 complete with instruction flyer also dated 9/38, key and empty oil bottle, corrugated cardboard wrap is non original.

Hornby Dublo 3-rail EDP1 pre-war LNER Passenger Train Set containing 4-6-2 LNER blue A4 Class Loco No.4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley", 2-car Articulated LNER Coach Set along with oval of track, blue controller, spanner and empty oil tube, loco fitted with horseshoe type motor, condition Excellent with Excellent nameplate transfers, tender is Good to Good Plus with crease to right side front and some distortion to plastic coal section, articulated coach pair comprising All 3rd and Brake 3rd Coaches is complete with Centre Corridor Connection and Centre Bogie, All 3rd Coach has minor crazing to roof, condition Good Plus to Excellent, track and controller are Good to Good Plus, all are contained in Good Plus to Excellent box base with tender and coach insert but loco wrap is missing, lid is Good to Good Plus with some rubs to edges, one spit corner but picture is Excellent.

Ian Kirk or similar OO Gauge Kitbuilt LNER Gresley style Coaches consisting of Brake 3rd, Full Brake, 1st/3rd Brake, Royal Mail, Restaurant Car, Buffet Car and a number of others 4 with internal figures. Nicely built and painted Excellent. (8)

Hornby Dublo 3-rail EDG7 Southern Railway Goods Set containing 0-6-2 Southern Malachite green Tank Loco No.2594, 3 x Southern Goods Wagons (Open, Box Van and Brake Van) with sand buckets to both ends along with oval of track, controller, still wrapped bottle of oil plus instruction booklet dated 2/51 and layout suggestion booklet dated 12/49, loco is Excellent with silver decals to rear, open wagon has small mark to one side, box van has faint scratches to one side, very minor dent to roof on brake van, conditions range from Good to Excellent, all are contained in Good to Excellent box base with both loco end packing pieces, lid has some staining to top but is generally Good to Good Plus.

Hornby Dublo 3-rail EDG7 GWR Goods Set containing 0-6-2 GWR green Tank Loco No.6699, loco is fitted with horseshoe type motor and has gold decal to bunker rear, some paint loss to smokebox door and right side of bunker, minor rusting to handrails, condition generally Good, all 3 wagons have rubs to ends where fitted into box insert but conditions are generally Good Plus, all are contained in Good Plus box base with incorrect loco end packing pieces, printed cover strip, wagon insert has some minor tears but generally Good, box lid has staining and some repairs to corners and is only Fair, Royal Scot picture is generally Good.

Hornby Dublo 3-rail EDL7 0-6-2 Southern Malachite green Tank Loco No.2594 complete with instruction booklet dated 7/51, minor paint loss to smokebox door, front buffer beam and 1 buffer head, slight corrosion to one handrail knob on right side of loco, paint chip to left side of bunker and small chip to cab roof but condition is generally Good Plus to Excellent in Good to Good Plus medium blue box with SR sticker to one end and complete with instruction booklet dated 7/51, loco end packing pieces and printed cover strip.

HO Brass Japan KTM for Westside Model Company (WMC) 4-4-6-4 Pennsylvania Railroad Class Q2 Duplex, loco is unpainted and has Excellent detail, condition Excellent in Good original box but inner foam packing beginning to disintegrate.

HO Brass Japan Atlas Industries for Pacific Fast Mail (PFM) 2-6-6-0 Denver & Rio Grande (Western) Articulated Loco No.784, loco was originally built for the Denver & Salt Lake Railroad (D&SL), nicely finished in black livery with crew onboard, condition Excellent in Good box.

HO Brass (Japan) Atlas/Kawai for Pacific Fast Mail (PFM) 2-8-8-2 Class L125 Articulated Loco in Denver and Rio Grande livery with Rio Grande to tender sides No.3603, finished in black with grey smokebox and fire box bottom half, some paint loss to cylinder covers on front set of driving wheels, Excellent detail with coal added to tender.

Meccano Outfit K which consists of a green wooden box with "Meccano Outfit K" box finished in green with lift out tray. Box contains a number of mixed period parts including flexible plates, angle girders, early No.1 motor, tunnel, sacks, box and 2 others. Contents are generally Poor to Fair and includes instructions for Outfit No.6, box is Good Plus. Also included is a small quantity of other Meccano parts Fair.
