The Military, Civilian Figures, Equipment and Accessories sale held on the 31st of July featured Britains Limited Edition modern issues; contemporary issues from Del-Prado/Osprey and others including Heyde, CBG Mignot, Astra, and DeAgostini warships. Further items included Britains sets, series and figures, plus Pixyland Kew, John Hill, Charbens, Dinky, Taylor and Barrett and others. Plastic Issues include Swoppet series from Britains/Herald and Timpo, Crescent, Timpo Solids, Cherilea and Dragon Models. The sale also included bagged Airfix aircraft series, vehicles and trackside series plus boxed kits and original Roy Cross artwork; pre and post war tinplate, Militaria, Britains boxed and unboxed Military Issues, Military Books, Catalogues & Artwork. Plus Plastic Issues from the Connoisseur Collection, Britains Racing Colours including uncatalogued, pre- and post-war issues, and Benbros Boxed Sets.

 

Britains for Gamages - United States Cavalry - 26th Cavalry [Philippine Scouts] - Khaki Service Mounted Service Order-Campaign Dress, Privately Commissioned Set, Circa, Early 1942, comprising: Mounted Officer [Lt. Edwin P. Ramsey - Fixed Arm], Colour Bearer, Troop Pennon Bearer, Bugler, Master Sergeant Firing Pistol & 4 x Troopers Firing Pistols. All Depicted in Khaki Service Dress & Steel Helmets. This Set was Originally Commissioned [by a Serving U.S. Army Officer Posted to the U.S. Embassy in London] to Commemorate the last Charge Ever Made by Horse Mounted U.S. Cavalry - Bataan, 16th January, 1942, [Complete with Original Badges: US Army Officers Cap Badge & WW2 Bronze Star Affixed to the lid by a Previous Owner of the Set [See Lot 4780 22nd November 2017 - Indian Cavalry & Lot 3803 17th November 2015 Sale - Scots Greys for previous sets from the same collection]. Britains - Set MOD 50/19/1 - Un-catalogued Band [Special Commission Set], 1950's Issue, comprising: Band of the Royal Marines - Tropical Service Dress: Band Master with Baton & 20 x Marching Musicians Playing Various Instrumentation. Depicted in Light Khaki Green Uniforms & White Marine Pattern Helmets. Originally Commissioned [by the Ministry of Defence] for Display in the Regiment's Home Town Army Recruiting Office. See Lot No's 7791 / 7792 - 28th April 2020 Sale for Similar MOD Commissions. This set has been consigned by a Descendant of a Former Britains Ltd. [Sales Department] Employee who it is believed "liberated" it upon Retirement in the Mid 1960's, the set having remained un-issued. It has Remained in the Employees Home for the last 60+ years, only being Consigned after Similar [Un-boxed] MOD Band Sets were spotted in the 28th April Vectis Sale.
