Matchbox Model Auction - Thursday 18 July 2024 10:00  

The Matchbox Model Auction to be held on the 18th of July features road and racing cars, commercial and construction vehicles, and aircraft; plus empty boxes, carry cases, Gift sets, and Giftware. With Skybusters, Superfast, Regular Wheels, Speed Kings, Super Kings, Battle Kings, King Size, Adventure 2000 series and Yesteryears. Further items include pre-production colour trial models, unused and unassembled factory parts, unassembled colour trial models and Code 2 issues.

Lot 436 - Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Y4 1930 Duesenberg Model J Towncar Issue 1 - white body, orangey red chassis, yellow seats and hood with 7mm window, type A roof casting, chrome 24-spoke wheels, chrome parts, hollow air horns without Y4 cast to bumpers and small narrow base lug - a few dull marks, Excellent Plus , nice example - extremely rare ,Unboxed.

Lot 177 - Matchbox Superfast 26c Site Dumper factory pre-production colour trial - red cab with black plastic engine & interior, metallic jade green dump, military green chassis, black plastic base with incomplete copyright date & without model number cast, 5-spoke front wheels & 5-crown rear wheels - Excellent with some small paint chips to cab. Striking colour combination, Unboxed.

Lot 174 - Matchbox Superfast 9c Ford Escort RS2000 Pre-production colour trial model - red body, light amber windows, tan interior, satin black base, dot-dash wheels - Near Mint but does have some factory casting flaws to body, Rare Model - displays well, unboxed.
