Wednesday 7th December 2022 marks the date of our next Doll and Bear Sale. This sale features a wealth of weird and wonderful items, as well as a huge set of toys we don?t see all too often.

All collected by one owner, a stable of over 200 My Little Pony toys! Every single one is from the original 1982 line, as well as being in excellent condition. These toys are frequently seen with quite messy and knotted hair due to their owners over using their brush accessories to comb their hair, however this entire collection?s manes are pristine.

Featured within the collection are a large number of rare male ponies, as defined by the feathering of their fur onto their hooves. A notable name within these boys is that of Ice Crystal, a commonly sought after pony for collectors.

Other features include Princess Ponies and even toys with mechanisms like the dial-operated Happy Tails and the squeeze operated Dance ?N Prance lines. We don?t commonly test our toys, but we did get to play with a few of these!

My Little Pony was originally released under the name of My Pretty Pony in 1981, the brand changing to what we know it as just a year later in 1982. The line has seen 5 iterations to this date, from 1982 all the way to 2021. Each separate incarnation has become known as the different generations of My Little Pony.

The 1982 line found massive success throughout the rest of the 80?s after rebranding from My Pretty Pony. It became a staple franchise for not just girls toys, but an animated TV show and feature length film. The line ran globally for over 10 years, coming to a stop in 1995.

The second iteration was released in 1997 as ?Friendship Garden?. The line was cut very short in the US due to a lack of popularity and ceased production just 2 years later in 1999. Interestingly in Europe, ?Friendship Garden? was changed to ?Ponyland?.

2003 introduced the third revival of the line. They closely resembled the original aesthetic of the original 1982 line, proving very successful. Before the line ended in 2009 there were two minor revamps across the lifespan of this particular generation.

Then, followed 2010. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic released. This line is much less known for its toys than it is for its massively popular cartoon series, which brought the series from a niche for young girls to a successful franchise that adults also jumped onto, perhaps even more than children did.

As of right now, generation 5 is the currently running franchise. Unlike every other generation before this, generation 5 directly follows the events established in Friendship is Magic, meaning there is more of a focus on media than there is on toys.

With the newer generations putting their priority on their shows rather than their toys, collectors naturally find themselves more enticed by the older iterations of the series.

We are very excited to be selling this quality group of My Little Pony and hope you?re just as excited to see them!
