The Lego Star Wars Auction held at Vectis Auctions held yesterday the 10th of September achieved some fantastic results.
The auction of 435 Lots (approximately 500 Lego sets) achieved a remarkable £67,000 (incl. Buyers Premiums) with one rare sealed set selling for £4,655!
The auction estimate was originally £36,000 - £47,000, however we knew we were in for a great sale as the bids continued to accumulate before the auction started.
The star of the show, the Lego Star Wars Cloud City (set 10123) gained a lot of interest and sold for £4,655 against a £3,500- £4,000 estimate. The set which was still sealed contains the rare Lando Calrissian and Princess Leia minifigures in Bespin outfits, and a unique decaled Boba Fett minifigure.
Further items included Set 10195 a Republic Dropship with AT-OT which achieved £1,102 (estimate £140 - £180), and Set 10179 the Ultimate Collectors Series Millenium Falcon, this iconic set sold for £1,041 against a £400 – £500 estimate. Another notable Lot was 221, a collection of 9 sealed Lego Star Wars minifigures in sealed polybags, which sold for £465 on a £70 - £90 estimate.
The sale was predominantly one private owner who had collected almost every Star Wars set between 2004 and 2018.
