The Dolls and Teddy Bear sale held on the 28th of March started with a large collection of over 500 Charlie Bears, predominantly designed by Isabelle Lee. With Kaycee Bears Dragons, Hermann, Deans Rag Book, Steiff and artists bears, plus Pelham Puppets and porcelain artist dolls. The sale also included Part 2 of The Joan Donachie collection, over 150 lots of vintage dolls, bisque, vinyl, hard plastic costume dolls; Sindy and Barbie plus clothing and accessories, dolls houses, furniture, prams and chairs, plus a lovely collection of wooden bears and Teddy Bears from Chad Valley, Merrythought, Chiltern, Steiff, including hand puppets and animals.

Robin der Bar The Old Flag Bear artist teddy bear by Marie Robischon (Germany), LE 7/12, with swing label certificate, grey thread sparse mohair, black glass eyes, black vertically stitched nose, fully jointed, leather paw pads and feet, black claw stitching, excelsior filled, wearing grey knitted vest (darned), black trousers with red piping to outside leg seam, 1914-1918 medal fastened to trouser waist, red and grey military-style jacket with brass buttons and golden braid embellishment, grey woollen flat cap, yellow and blue polka dot neckerchief, aged to resemble an old bear, Excellent Plus, 15.5"/39cm.

Vivian original OOAK porcelain artist doll, designed and made by Verena Eising, brown painted eyes, strawberry blonde hair, cloth body with porcelain arms and legs, wearing ecru cotton top with pale pink edging, pale pink muslin tutu, white cotton stockings, white leatherette ballet pumps, with certificate and swing label, Excellent Plus to Near Mint, 20"/51cm (seated).

Lilou original porcelain artist doll, by Ruth Treffeisen (Germany), LE 22/45, blue/grey glass eyes, blonde hair, cloth body with bisque limbs, wearing ecru lace dress and matching bonnet, pearl necklace, cotton knitted socks, leather shoes, with certificate, Excellent Plus to Near Mint, 24"/61cm.

Steiff "Luther" vintage brass mohair teddy bear, German, circa 1905/1906, with underscored "F" STEIFF small size early button, black boot button eyes, vertically stitched black nose and mouth, fully jointed, felt pads (with some wear and repairs), black claw stitching, hump to back, elongated arms, inoperative tilt growler, areas of balding especially to face, limbs and rear torso, stuffing shifted to neck, tops of arms and legs, otherwise Fair Plus to Good, wearing leatherette collar, 23.5"/60cm. NB: Lots 7597 and 7598 are the property of Jean and Bill Ashburner (creators of the award winning Bear Bits artist teddy bears).

Steiff "Theo" vintage apricot mohair teddy bear, German, circa 1906/1907, with underscored "F" STEIFF button, black boot button eyes, vertically stitched black nose and mouth, fully jointed, felt pads (with some wear and repairs), black claw stitching, hump to back, elongated arms, bald spots to temples and rear of head, rear of ears worn with some holes, centre torso front seam restitched, some wear to mohair along centre torso, hand stitched repair (small patch inserted) to top of nose (under embroidery), stuffing shifted to neck, tops of arms and legs, small stitch repair top of left arm, otherwise Good mohair coverage and colour, 19.75"/50cm. Black Forest Bear wooden desk shelf / book slide, bears to each end, walking with rucksacks to their backs, each originally with walking stick (one is missing), affixed with hinges that enable them to fold flat, 6.5"/16cm x 14"/36cm x 5.5"/14cm, has old wood worm hole, otherwise Good.
