The delightful doll and teddy bear sale held on Thursday 21st April 2022 at the Vectis Thornaby Auction Rooms offered 518 Lots of artist teddy bears, vintage bruins, Pelham Puppets, Muffy Vanderbear, modern, fashion and antique dolls. The sale also included a superb collection of golly collectables such as ephemera, badges, keyrings, ceramics, figures and books

R John Wright Tom Thumb from The Fairy Tale Mice Collection, Artist designed realistic mouse, LE 110/150, 2015, the second in the series, blonde mohair with realistic shading, German glass eyes, inset whiskers, resin hands and feet, leather tail, built-in metal stand, wearing period costume made of custom made all-wool felt. On his head Tom sports a jaunty cap which has been artistically shaded and embossed to appear as if it was constructed from a leaf! His tunic is gathered at the waist with a leather belt fastened with a tiny custom-cast decorative brass buckle. On his feet Tom wears a tiny pair of peasant shoes. In one hand he holds his trusty sword handcrafted at the RJW studio out of wood. With button, swing label, certificate, Near Mint to Mint, within Excellent to Excellent Plus packaging, 3"/8cm.

R John Wright Aladdin from The Fairy Tale Mice Collection, Artist designed realistic mouse, LE 122/150, 2015, the fifth in the series, blonde mohair with realistic shading, German glass eyes, inset whiskers, jointed at the neck and shoulders, resin hands and feet, leather tail, built-in metal stand. Aladdin comes outfitted in a delightful Middle Eastern costume made of custom made all-wool felt. He wears 'Salwar' trousers, an embroidered vest and sash, Arabian slippers and a fez hat. In both hands he holds the magic lamp close to his chest. With button, swing label, certificate, Near Mint to Mint, within Excellent to Excellent Plus packaging, 3"/8cm.

Steiff Wizard of Oz Wicked Witch of the West teddy bear, white tag 682407, LE 1939, 2013, green mohair, dressed in black costume taken from the film musical Wizard of Oz, certificate, bear has some very slight surface damp damage to black dress (this is superficial and could be cleaned), within Good to Excellent box (some damp damage to interior), outer trade carton, ex-shop stock, 11.5"/29cm.

Early vintage British red mohair Teddy Bear circa 1930's possibly Chad Valley, amber and black replacement glass eyes, black vertically stitched nose, replacement wool felt, card lined pads with re-applied Chad Valley red stitched label to foot, black claw stitching, fully jointed, areas of balding and wear but remains an unusual and rare bear, Good 16"/41cm.
