The Doll and Teddy bear sale to be held on the 14th of January features a large collection of Charlie Bears, plus Steiff, Merrythought, and Chad Valley, plus artist bears and vintage British, German and French bears. Further items include artists dolls, Barbie, Sindy, My little Pony, and Robertson’s Gollys and badges. The sale will also include The Peter Dowsett Collection Of Antique, Vintage And Scratchbuilt Dolls Houses And Their Furnishings, of which the funds raised from the collection will go to the following charities: Macmillan Care Reg 263218; Salvation Army Reg 214779; RNLI Reg 209603 and Marie Curie Reg 207994.

 

Farnell "Alpha Toys" vintage miniature rare mascot dog, British, 1914-1920, RARE circular card label to neck ALPHA MAKE TRADE MARK, original blue ribbon to neck, black glass bead eyes, black felt nose, black embroidered mouth, white with black mohair ears, swivel head, limbs externally pin jointed, mohair is slightly worn overall, ears are faded, card label is creased, Good Plus, 3"/8cm; together with a hand-made clippy mat; (2). NB: Farnell "Alpha Toys" were well known for known for their Soldier Bears; many were taken to war as love tokens from sweethearts during the Great War.

Gebruder Bing brown mohair vintage teddy bear, German, c 1915-1920, clear glass eyes with black pupils and brown painted backs, black vertically stitched nose (with dropped middle stitch), shaven muzzle, fully jointed, hump to back, inoperative tilt growler, finishing seam to front, felt pads, remains of black claw stitching, stuffing shifted to limbs, left eye is glued in position, slight wear to mohair- right ear has thinning to mohair, tips of arms and toes have wear to mohair, felt pads are holed, wearing dark blue woollen and cotton sailor's uniform, Excellent, 20"/51cm.

Neue Munchner Kinderpuppen H 160 wooden artist designed doll by Elisabeth Pongratz, 83B4120P to sole of left foot, also incised NEUE MUNCHNER KINDERPUPPEN ELISABETH PONGRATZ to sole of right foot, with original swing label- pencil notation MS H160, hand carved wood five way jointed body, brunette mohair plaited wig, blue hand painted eyes, costume is exquisitely hand made, wearing mauve dress with pinafore dress over top, black knitted socks, black suede leather shoes, ecru cotton all in one knitted body, garments have sewn-in cloth Pongratz embroidered labels, tiny chip to bridge of nose, Near Mint, 14"/36cm. NB: Elisabeth Pongratz first started to make dolls in 1979.

Robin der Bar Unikat teddy bear, artist designed by Marie Robischon (Germany), 1995, with swing label certificate, with cloth labels to chest and inner jacket, cream mohair, black glass eyes, cream vertically stitched nose, fully jointed, felt paw pads and feet, cream claw stitching, tilt growler, excelsior filled, wearing brown jacket embellished with leaf bead work, pale green velvet skirt, navy felt hat, broderie anglaise cotton handkerchief to right hand, carrying vintage tapestry purse on chain, containing pair of miniature bottles of 4711 eau de cologne, aged to resemble an old bear, some fading to clothing, Excellent, 18"/46cm.

Maggie Made Dolls Best Friends pair of felt artist Dolls by Maggie Iacono, LE 41 of 60, felt fully jointed doll, painted features, brunette mohair plaited wig, wearing felt, silk and cotton clothing, Near Mint to Mint, complete with certificate, 11"/28cm and 4.5"/11.5cm.

Late Victorian antique wooden doll's house, British, circa 1891, on two floors, later painted red brick exterior, grey pitched roof, three chimneys, front door and four windows, later extension to each side, front opens in four sections to reveal six rooms, gable with painted date 1891, one extension with painted date 1938, 29"/74cm x 56 1/4"/143cm x 12"/30cm. NB: The house was originally made for the Smithers family of Knockholt in 1891 and had remained in the family until the vendor purchased at Sotheby's in 2000. The later extensions being added by Mr Head, the estate carpenter during the 1930s. "Galadriel", wooden rocking horse unicorn, substantially scratch built, natural wood, amber and black glass eyes, with plastic unicorn's horn to forehead, cream synthetic mane and tail, leather saddle and bridle, on tressle base, metal plate inscribed "GALADRIEL R DAVIES JUNE 1991", 50"/127cm tall. NB: THIS HORSE IS LARGE AND HEAVY AND MAY REQUIRE COLLECTION.
