The Doll & Teddy Bear auction to be held on the 4th of April includes part 2 of The Staffordshire Hoard of Bears Collection, including Merrythought, artist bears, and Lakeland bears from Little Folk and Deans Rag Book. Further bears in the sale include Steiff, Charlie Bears, Merrythought, plus Jody Battaglia fun town artist creations, other artist bears and vintage and modern issues. The sale will also feature dolls, including Barbie, Pippa and Sindy, Sasha Dolls, Steiff, plus bisque, hard plastic, vinyl and composition. There are vintage prams, Dolls Houses and furniture, and wooden articulated figures including Betty Boop and Felix the cat. Further items include crafting materials, pins, paraphernalia, books, novelties, display cases, fabric, and porcelain dinnerware.
Highlights include;
Lot 165 - Rabery & Delphieu (French) bisque doll impressed R 4 D, fixed blue glass paperweight eyes, open mouth (missing teeth), pierced ears, original cork pate and wig, jointed composition body, faults in the bisque (done at time of firing), repairs to fingers and toes (please see photographs), chips to socket neck, original cotton whiteware under garments, silk sailor style skirt and jacket (silk is shredding), leather lace up boots, 35"/89cm. Estimate: £200 - £400
Lot 392 - Steiff Bierwagengespann (Beer Wagon Team), white tag 038648, LE 247/500, certificate, consisting of three blonde mohair bears, four black mohair horses, wooden wagon and accessories, within plastic display box (damaged please see photographs), otherwise Good to Good Plus, base length 37"/95cm Estimate: £200 - £300
Lot 126 - Palitoy Pippa Film Star vintage boxed doll, Near Mint to Mint within Fair Plus to Good box; tear in plastic at top, tape residue on top, sides and foot of box, sticker residue on plastic front, tape has become brittle with age. Estimate: £100 - £200
