Diecast Delights in the July Sale
There are over eight private owner collections in the Specialist Diecast Sale to be held on Wednesday the 12th July including very tempting Foden Trucks and Spot-On Collections.
There are over 640 lots of superb boxed, unboxed and loose groups of British and Continental Dinky, Corgi and Matchbox plus some enticing Gift Sets. There is an extremely interesting selection of Triang vehicles exclusively produced in New Zealand.
Ever popular, the TV and Film Diecast section should not disappoint.
Lot 1229
Dinky No.149 "Sports Cars" Gift Set to include MG Midget - white body, maroon interior with figure driver, red ridged hubs, racing No.28; Austin Healey - yellow body, blue interior and ridged hubs, figure driver, racing No.21; Sunbeam Alpine - cerise body, grey interior with figure driver, cream hubs, racing No.34; Aston Martin Racer - green body, red interior and ridged hubs with black treaded tyres, figure driver, racing No.22 and Triumph TR2 - pale pink, blue interior and ridged hubs with black treaded tyres, figure driver, racing No.29 - conditions appear to be generally Near Mint to Mint, carded base is Excellent including blue and white striped lift off lid (couple of minor scuffs to edges) - comes with correct inner packing piece which is Excellent - a superb example of what is becoming a harder set to finds in this condition - see photo.

Dinky No.2 "Private Automobiles" Gift Set - to include No.39a Packard - dark green, black ridged hubs and smooth tyres (some very small surface marks to baseplate); No.38b Oldsmobile - grey body, black ridged hubs and smooth tyres; No.39c Lincoln - grey body, black ridged hubs and smooth tyres; No.39d Buick - fawn body, black ridged hubs and smooth tyres (does have some slight surface corrosion mark to base and slight rusting to axles); and No.39e Chrysler - green, black ridged hubs and smooth tyres - conditions are generally Near Mint to Mint (unless stated) in a generally Good Plus to Excellent lift off lid presentation box (some small scuffs to edges) - inner carded tray is reproduction, still a beautiful example of a harder to find issue set - see photo.

South African Dinky No.155 Ford Anglia - pale bluish grey, red interior, chrome spun hubs - overall condition is generally Good Plus to Excellent (does have a small mark to front wing) - still a bright example of hard to find issue in a generally Fair to Good (still complete) yellow and red correct "South African" carded picture box - see photo.
Lot 1512
Dinky No.935 Leyland Octopus Flat Truck with chains - green cab and chassis, pale grey back and side flashes, red plastic hubs with black treaded tyres, tow hook - Excellent Plus (couple of very minor marks on wheelarches) - still a nice bright example in a Good Plus yellow and red lift off lid box with detailed picture - see photo.
Lot 1410
Corgi No.267 "Batman" - Batmobile - rare issue finished in matt black finish, blue tinted windows with "Batman & Robin" figures, red bat hubs, grey plastic aerial - Near Mint beautiful example, inner pictorial stand is Good Plus in a generally Good Plus to Excellent blue and yellow carded picture box (couple of small scuffs on edges) - still displays superbly with instruction pack containing folded instruction leaflet and some loose missiles only - see photo.

Dinky No.514 Guy "Weetabix" Van - yellow body and Supertoy hubs - Good Plus (does have small chips to top protruding edges) - still a bright example that displays well in a Good blue lift off lid box with paper label - see photo.

Dinky (South Africa) No.195 Jaguar 3.4 litre - finished in bluish-grey, cream interior and steering wheel, chrome spun hubs - Good to Good Plus still a bright unboxed example of a harder issue to find.
Lot 1356
Corgi No.333 BMC Mini Cooper S "RAC Sun International Rally" - red including interior, white roof, spun hubs, racing number 21 - Excellent Plus still a superb example, comes with period plain white carded box with "Sun Corgi Mini" and "1000 Winners" to side - accompanied with facsimile style letter dated 1967 - see photo.

Corgi No.258 "The Saint's" P1800 - white body with red interior and figure driver, blue bonnet label, spun hubs - Near Mint beautiful example of a harder to find issue in a generally Excellent Plus blue and yellow carded picture box with collectors club folded leaflet - becoming harder to find in this condition - see photo.
Lot 1409
Corgi No.270 "James Bond" Aston Martin DB5 - silver, red interior with "James Bond & Bandit" figures, tyre slashes - overall condition is Near Mint (apart from ejector seat is slightly stiff and roof panel does not quite close correctly) - still a nice bright example in a generally Excellent Plus harder to find blue and yellow slimline window box, comes with sealed secret instruction pack containing lapel badge, bandit figure, folded instruction sheet and unapplied numberplate decal sheet - see photo.
