How does an auction work?
Do you have a collection of toys and not sure of the best way to sell them?
Auctions are a great way to get your toys in front of the best audience.
If you have never used an auction company before it may seem a daunting idea, but rest assured at Vectis Auctions you and your collection will be in the best hands.
Auctions are a great way to sell your toy or specialist collection, we do all the hard work for you, you do not need to deal with buyer enquiries, you don’t even need to know the details of each model you are sending us as our Specialists are experts in their fields and will do all the research for you. And once a sale is over, our accounts team will chase for any outstanding payments, and our inhouse dispatch team will ensure your items are expertly and safely packed and sent to their new homes, all you have to do is sit back and relax and wait for the payment to arrive in your bank.
The process is simple.
Let us know about your collection, send us an email, some images and a rough idea of the quantity and condition and we will get back to you with a commission rate, time frame and information on how to get it to us.
Once we receive your collection you will receive a confirmation receipt and we will take over.
Your collection will get logged into our warehouse, and once a sale date is available and allocated, it will go to one of our inhouse Specialists, here, they will split your collection down into Lots, sometimes this will be individual Lots, or they may be placed into groups, we will always make sure we Lot them to ensure the best value for you. They will be given a Lot number, a full description and auction estimate. You will be sent an email confirmation of this as soon as the catalogue is completed.
Your lots are then photographed and our marketing team may take videos and images to post to our social media pages. All sales are advertised on our website and across our social media channels to reach a worldwide audience.
On the day of the auction Lots are offered in turn via our bespoke online bidding platform and through a third party website The-saleroom.com, widening your audience even further. Lots open at 60% of bottom estimate so we will never let your collection go for nothing. You can always discuss reserves with our team before the auction too if you wish.
After the auction you will receive an invoice letting you know how much your Lots went for and how much is owed to you. We need a few days to collect all payments in so you will receive your vendor payment 25 days after the auction.
Our friendly and dedicated team are on hand to answer any questions you have and ensure you get the best value for your collection; we understand that it may have been a life’s work, either yours or a loved ones, and we will treat it as such. We can handle probate and deceased estates, taking away the burden when you have other things to think about, or if you wish to leave instructions in your will, we can handle that too.
