Full Lot Description

A Tropical Service helmet ["Bombay Bowler"] circa 1930`s, comprising: cork helmet covered in khaki cloth with integral pugaree, brown leather retaining straps, brown leather sweatband, green baize lining with airtex crown & ventilators. The makers label reads: "Kirpa Ram Bros. By Appointment. H.E. The Commander in Chief in India. General Drapers. Peshawar". An inscription in ink reads: "Lowis" This helmet type was issued to British Forces in India & the Far/Middle East in addition to diplomatic personnel. Complete with original black japanned storage tin with "Rogers & Company - Saville Row" badge & "Lowis, Moretons, Lymmington, Hants" stencilled in white. Helmet Excellent, tin Poor with much corrosion.
