Specialist Sale -- Wednesday 16th January 2019 HIGHLIGHTS
The Specialist Sale which was held on the 16th of January featured seven private owner collections plus other vendors. The Northern Collection featured Solido racing cars; Dinky cars, trucks, service vehicles, and aircraft, plus Corgi vehicles and TV and Film memorabilia. The Bus Collection featured 20 lots of boxed and unboxed buses from Minialuxe, Gamda (Israel), Tekno and Dinky, plus others and The Hampshire Collection included Dinky cars, motorcycles, South African, and French Dinky. The Borders Collection, The Hereford Collection - Part 1, and Part 2 of The Puerto Rico Collection all included boxed and unboxed Corgi and Dinky cars, commercials, haulage, military and aircraft plus many others, and the French Dinky from The London Collection featured a number of buses and military vehicles.
Dinky 38d Alvis Open Tourer - grey body, brown interior and tonneau, silver trim, black smooth hubs and tyres - overall condition is generally Excellent a nice bright example of an early issue.
French Dinky 882 "Pinder" Gift Set comprising of Peugeot 404 - red, yellow including flashes, concave hubs with Caravan - yellow, red, off white roof - condition is generally Near Mint to Mint still beautiful examples, inner carded tray is Excellent in a Good Plus carded picture box (couple of small marks to end flap).
Corgi 216 Austin A40 Saloon - red body, black roof, silver trim, flat spun hubs - Near Mint in a Mint blue and yellow carded picture box with collectors club folded leaflet - hard and rare issue to find without mechanical motor - see photo.
Corgi 228 Volvo P1800 - light salmon pink, lemon interior, silver trim, cast hubs - Near Mint still a beautiful example of a harder to find wheel variation model in a Excellent Plus blue and yellow carded picture box with collectors club folded leaflet.
Corgi 238 Jaguar Mark X - sea green, red interior, silver trim, spun hubs, with 2 x luggage cases - overall condition is Mint a superb example of a harder colour variation to find in a generally Excellent Plus blue and yellow carded picture box with collectors club folded leaflet, also comes with original price label to end flap.
Corgi 422 Bedford "Corgi Toys" Delivery Van - yellow body, blue roof, silver trim, flat spun hubs - Near Mint in a Excellent plain carded box with red "Corgi Toys Temporary Box" text - also comes with rare club members folded leaflet - see photo.
Corgi 1110 Bedford Type S Tanker "Shell Benzeen Tolueen Xyleen" - blue, white, silver trim and gantry, chrome spun hubs - Near Mint still an outstanding example of a rare promotional issue, comes with a Excellent correct issue presentation box with colour folded leaflet (does have some small creases to lid) - still a superb example.
Corgi 258 "The Saints" Volvo P1800 - white body, red interior with figure driver, silver trim, cast hubs - Mint (couple of very minor factory marks) still a beautiful example of a hard to find issue in a Mint blue and yellow carded picture box with collectors club folded leaflet.
Corgi 201 "The Saints" Volvo P1800 - white body, yellow interior with figure driver, silver trim, Whizzwheels, (rare to find issue with 258 bonnet decal) in a Mint orange and yellow window box with collectors club folded leaflet.
Corgi 267 "Batman" - Batmobile - rare issue finished in matt black body, red Bat hubs, blue tinted windscreens with "Batman & Robin" figures, grey plastic aerial - Near Mint still a superb example, inner pictorial stand is Near Mint, outer blue and yellow carded picture box is Near Mint, comes complete with correct packing card and ring, also comes accompanied with instruction pack and instruction leaflet - see photo.
Dinky 503 Foden (1st type) Flat Truck with Tailboard - red cab and back, black chassis and side flashes, ridged hubs with herringbone tyres (without tow hook issue) - Excellent Plus a beautiful example in a generally Excellent buff lift off lid box with paper label (does have some small pen writing to lid and usual slight rusting to staples) still a lovely bright example.
Dinky 919 Guy "Robertson's Golden Shred" - red cab, chassis and back, yellow Supertoy hubs with black smooth tyres - Excellent Plus a beautiful example in a generally Excellent blue and white striped lift off lid box with "LF" label to end - see photo.
Dinky 505 Foden (1st type) Flat Truck with Chains - green cab, chassis and back, mid-green side flashes and ridged hubs with black treaded tyres, silver trim, tow hook - overall condition is generally Excellent (does have some small chips on post top edges) in a generally Good Plus blue lift off lid box with paper label - still a nice bright example see photo.
Dinky a group to include 36 series British Salmson 2 seater Sports Car; 38 series Sunbeam Talbot; 22 series Streamlined Saloon plus others conditions are generally Fair to Good (includes many repaints) - from the Dr Edward Force Collection which many have been used in his reference books over a number of years.
