Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen Visits Vectis Auctions — Just Minutes from His Childhood Home 🏡

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen paid a special visit to Vectis Auctions this morning, where he enjoyed a nostalgic look at collectable toys similar to the ones he had as a child — just five minutes away in Ingleby Barwick.

After speaking with several specialist cataloguers and learning how even the smallest variations can dramatically influence the value of collectable toys, he took part in a game of “The Price Is Right,” attempting to estimate the prices of vintage and modern Star Wars items. After gaining a little inside knowledge from our Specialist, he successfully identified the higher-value lots, even if the prices weren’t quite right!

Following a conversation with Chairman Bryan Goodall, who still plays an active role in the business, the Mayor stepped up to the rostrum himself, to deliver the fall of the gavel!

Vectis Auctions is internationally recognised as a leader in collectable toy auctions, attracting buyers and sellers from across the world while proudly operating from its Thornaby base.
