A remarkable and extensive Star Wars and Boba Fett collection belonging to the late Simon Robertson.
Coming up for auction at Vectis Auctions on the 21st of October is an incredible Star Wars auction, a must-see for fans and collectors alike. The auction features contributions from several vendors, but one collection in particular truly stands out: a remarkable and extensive Star Wars and Boba Fett collection belonging to the late Simon Robertson.
Simon was a passionate and respected collector, known throughout the community for his devotion to all things Boba Fett. Beyond that, he also built an outstanding collection of graded loose figures, with a special focus on Lili Ledy figures, Star Wars toys produced exclusively in Mexico. Some of these figures often included unique variations, such as a removable hood on Jawa or a removable rocket on Boba Fett, details that make them highly sought after by enthusiasts.
Simon personally sourced many of these rare figures from Mexico before having them professionally graded here in the UK, adding authenticity and provenance. So much so, that his obsession helped establish the grading process for Lili Ledy figures with UKG, UKGraders, a lasting contribution to the collecting community.
Simon’s enthusiasm and expertise have left behind a true legacy of knowledge and passion.
His collection has been lovingly consigned to auction by his sister, Claire, who hopes to see Simon’s treasures find new homes with collectors who share his love for Star Wars and the galaxy he adored.
“Dealing with Simon's collection still feels surreal as I never thought I would see the day that I would ever have to deal with it - I had left him my Sindy collection and he left me his Star Wars collection. In my head, he was going to be surrounded by Sindy dolls as punishment for shaving their hair off when I was little to make them look like his action man. But our best plans sometimes go awry.
So, onto Simon and his collection...
From the first time he saw a Star Wars film in his childhood, Simon was a lifelong fan. He didn't just collect it, he lived and breathed it, creating Jedi academies for the Emerald Garrison to allow kiddies to enjoy the world of Star Wars. He loved to dress as different characters and engulf himself in that world.
His favourite character was Boba Fett, and he collected everything from vintage to present with Fett on it, and met Jeremy Bulloch several times when he was at events in Belfast that the Emerald Garrison was staffing at. I remember them laughing together that his character was on a cheese package that Simon had in his collection.

We lost Simon to cancer in July 2024. He had seven weeks from diagnosis until he returned to the force, and when I think of him, I imagine him in his Jedi robes beside all the friends and family that travelled before him. We buried him in those Jedi robes as it was when he was happiest, immersed in the Star Wars universe.
To Simon, his Star Wars collection wasn't a group of items, it was an extension of him. He loved his collection, and spoke of it like a member of the family. He would want it to go to other Star Wars collectors who would enjoy it the same as him, cherishing the items and smiling when they looked at them.

I have chosen that I want proceeds from the auction to go to two animal charities close to my heart. My dog Bumble was one of the last things he asked for in the hospital, and I smuggled her in the night before he passed. I want to honour that love and memory since she is a rescue and we want to help other dogs find their forever home.
I struggled with the decision to part with the collection, but sometimes the greatest way to remember someone is to share their light with the world, and Simon was a character bigger than life with so much light in him that he shared with everyone he met. To Simon, Star Wars wasn't a franchise - it was his religion, and so I hope that each piece of his collection finds its way to where it is meant to be, and that the new owner finds the happiness it brought him.”
“May the Force be with you.”
