This extremely rare “Real Cricket in Miniature” set by Tulltoy (Phillip Segal Toys), dating from around 1947, sold at Vectis Auctions for £4,165

The vendor discovered the boxed set in their loft when they moved into their home and initially brought it to Vectis for valuation four years ago. After some deliberation, they decided the time is right to sell, and they were right!

Items created by Phillip Segal, are highly sought after among vintage toy collectors. Segal began producing toys in 1938, but his early work was halted when wartime restrictions banned the use of lead. Although he resumed production after the war, his career was cut short by his early death in 1951, meaning his toys were only produced for a brief period.
