You probably know Boba Fett as one of the coolest, and most mysterious, bounty hunters in the Star Wars universe. He first appeared in 1978 in the Star Wars Holiday Special, and went on to make appearances in both the original and prequel trilogies.
What makes Boba Fett stand out? His distinctive armour, quiet demeanour, and the fact that he never takes off his helmet. In The Empire Strikes Back (1980), he works with the Galactic Empire, and by Return of the Jedi (1983), he’s serving Jabba the Hutt—until he meets an unfortunate (and seemingly final) fate following a fall into a Sarlacc.
The prequels show Boba Fett as a boy, the son of the legendary bounty hunter Jango Fett. Despite not being a lead character, Boba Fett became a fan favourite, he is ranked as one of the top Star Wars characters of all time, and his action figures consistently land among the best-sellers.
One of the most famous pieces of Star Wars merchandise is the mail-away Boba Fett figure from The Empire Strikes Back, originally designed with a rocket-firing backpack. The toy never made it to shelves because of safety concerns, which only made it even more rare and collectable today.
