Model Train Sale - Friday 18th January 2019 HIGHLIGHTS
The Model Train sale which was held on the 18th of January featured OO Gauge British Outline, HO USA & Continental Outline, N Gauge and Triang. Plus, OO Gauge Brass and Kit/Kitbuilt OO Gauge, and Gauge 1 & Larger. Part 9 of The Chris Broos Lifetime Collection featured further interesting locomotives, coaches, and accessories. The sale also included a fantastic collection of Garden Railway Centres Limited ex Shop Stock LGB & G Gauge Locomotives, Rolling Stock & Accessories, plus Hornby, Modern and Further O Gauge, Modern American Outline O Gauge and Scratch/Kitbuilt O Gauge Finescale. The sale concluded with Meccano & Other Constructional Toys, Live Steam, Railwayana, Books, Magazines & Catalogues, Pictures & Prints and our usual good selection of General Trains.
Hornby (China) Mk.3 Passenger Coaches comprising 5 x R4368 blue/grey TGS, R4294 Intercity Executive livery Open 1st, 8 x 1st Great Western purple livery (R4369 1st Class, 3 x R4370 Tourist Open, 2 x R4371 Buffet Car and 2 x R4372 TGS), conditions are Excellent to Near Mint in generally Good to Excellent Plus boxes. OO Gauge Kitbuilt 4-6-0 Great Central lined black B1 Class 1067, nicely built and painted, fitted with a portescap motor, condition Good Plus.
Roundhouse O Gauge (32mm - adjustable to 45mm) 0-4-0 Darjeeling B Class Tank Loco blue, radio controlled. Excellent detail with outside framed chassis with double acting side valve cylinders, simplified Wallschaerts valve gear. Full radio control for speed and directions, includes transmitter. Complete with owner handbook, warranty dated 2014 and all contained in a wooden box which includes the outer mailer. Overall Near Mint.
Roundhouse O Gauge (32mm - adjustable to 45mm) 2-6-2 Tank Loco green named "TAW" (Lyton & Barnstable), Live Steam. Internally fired with slip eccentric valve gear. Has been fired and would benefit from a light clean. Excellent Plus, contained in home-made wooden box. Includes radio control (unchecked), instructions etc.
Roundhouse O Gauge (32mm - adjustable to 45mm) 0-4-0+0-4-0 Darjeeling D Class Garratt Loco "Highland Chief" green, internally gas fired. Chassis with 4 double acting slide valve cylinders operated by simplified Walschaerts valve gear, water top-up system, steam regulator, safety valve, pressure gauge, displacement lubricator etc. Includes carrier case, outer mailer and radio control unit (unchecked), handbook and warranty dated September 2015. Has been used would benefit from a light clean Near Mint.

Outside frame chassis with double acting slide valve cylinders operated by Walschaerts type valve gear. Internally gas fired, steam regulator, safety valve, pressure gauge, displacement lubricator, water gauge etc. Has been used and would benefit from a light clean otherwise Excellent Plus to Near Mint with instructions, warranty all contained in a home-made box.
Roundhouse O Gauge (32mm - adjustable to 45mm) 0-6-0 Diesel Locomotive Ref NDM-6 blue 602, radio controlled. Fitted with 2 high powered motors and precision made Helical gear set. Directional headlamps and fitted with factory sound. Appears little used Near Mint with warranty card, owner handbook etc instructions, CR2S.V2 receiver controller.
Gosling O Gauge GVT (Glyn Valley Tram) O Gauge 32mm 0-4-0 Tank Loco "Sir Theodore" lined black meths fired live steam with burner, single internal cylinder. No.563 of a limited number produced. Includes burner, would benefit from a light clean otherwise Excellent to Excellent Plus.
NB Models O Gauge Kitbuilt Eric Walford Models Warminster O Gauge 4-4-0 Loco and Tender NBR (North British Railways) lined green Glen Class "Glen Aladale" 504, 2-rail finescale electric. Finished in North British lined green with Glen Aladale to lettering to front splasher, running number 504 to cab side and NB lettering to tender sides. Fitted with a portescap or similar motor. Excellent all contained in a perspex display case measuring 24" x 5" approx, cracks to perspex top otherwise Excellent. These locomotive were designed by William Reid and 32 were built between 1913 and 1920.
