Vintage Star Wars figures have been sought after by collectors since their initial release in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This popular line of action figures, made by Palitoy in the UK and Kenner in the USA, introduced a generation of children to the world of Star Wars, and they have been beloved by collectors ever since. The figures are highly collectable and can be found in a variety of different packages, including carded figures and sets, along with playsets, vehicles, creatures and loose figures. 

The earliest Star Wars figures were released in 1977 and 1978. These 12 original figures are referred to as 12 Back figures and are considered amoungst the rarest and most valuable of all Star Wars figures. They include Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, R2-D2, and Darth Vader. Many of these figures have distinctive poses and are packed with accessories and weapons.
