Full Lot Description

Britains/Hugar for Gamages - RAMC Field Ambulance Station [a previously unknown set], 1940/41 Only, comprising: 95F Cowshed [Standard Model] with Thatched type Roof [the underside is constructed from unused box lids/catalogue sheets from the Britains 1938 Walt Disney Sets - the illustrations being visible from the inside] on Painted Board Base [10.75 x 6.25 Inches], complete with Opening Top Hatch , White Cross [as depicted on Britains Ambulances] Emblem to Rear Roof and front Hatch, a Hugar stamp is visible to the underside of the baseboard together with a small Gamages 1/- Price Label. Front painted "R.A.M.C. FIELD AMBULANCE STATION". Some minor age wear otherwise generally Excellent overall. Complete with [although not mentioned on the box label] from Britains Set 1896 [R.A.M.C. Stretcher Party in Battledress, late 1940 Only], now comprising: 4 x Stretcher Bearers, 2 x Stretchers, 2 x Casualties [including the scarce Soldier with Steel Helmet over his Face], Medical Officer with Baton & Empty Handed Medical Orderly. Near Mint overall. The Set is contained in a generally Excellent [minor staining & storage wear] plain card box with a "Gamages Holborn" stamp to each end, Lid end label reads: "R.A.M.C. FIELD AMBULANCE STATION", "GAMAGES HOLBORN EC1" & "Made in England". A paper "Fragile" label is affixed to the lid top. Along with Lot 346 - Vectis Sale - 21st March 2012 this set must rank amongst the rarest of the Hugar Range of Military Buildings, the first example to be sold by Vectis, possibly a unique survivor.

From June 1st 2023 the Buyer's Premium for each lot will be 22.5% plus VAT (27%).
