Barry Potter Auctions
Collectable toys are what we are all about and the numbers involved are considerable. Each year we sell literally thousands of models - Hornby, Bassett-Lowke and other 0 gauge trains, Hornby Dublo, Wrenn, Trix and other 00 gauge trains. Dinky, Corgi and other diecast models, tinplate toys and lead figures.
For anyone seriously interested in buying or selling collectable toys, we have a lot to offer.
We place a lot of importance on the way in which we present our auctions. If you are buying you need to have clear and accurate catalogue descriptions that you can rely upon. If you are selling, you need to be sure that the strongest buyers will be attracted to, and be eager to bid on your collection.
Our colour illustrated catalogue contains around 550 lots, all well described with clear condition descriptions and estimated price ranges. Each catalogue provides a list of price results from previous auction.
Whether you are selling a few important pieces, or a lifetime's collection of toys and trains, you can be absolutely confident in our handling of your treasured items from start to finish. Everything is insured and treated with the utmost care, from secure storage, to fully supervised viewing on sale day.
We have sold many important collections to hundreds of buyers worldwide.
Our first Toy and Train Auction took place in 1981, although our regular auction pattern of sale every two or three months has developed from 1992. Our auctions are well known to many hundreds of clients throughout the world because of the number of quality items we consistently sell.
Our involvement with toys and trains goes back a long way. Barry himself started collecting as far back as the late 1960's and has acquired a wide and detailed knowledge of collectable toys and trains.
When you deal with us, you are in contact with people who know the subject well and are very enthusiastic about it. Barry and his son Ellis are constantly on hand to advise on all matters concerned with buying and selling.
