The first day of two days of Diecast and Specialist Toys brought a few surprising results. 
 
The four private owner collections on offer included the Bedfordshire Collection which provided a superb opportunity to purchase groups of Matchbox items, mainly Superfast. 
 
There was a fascinating Police Vehicle Collection featuring forces from all over the globe.  The famous 'Panda' car is of course included along with Lada, Vauxwagon, Ford and other manufacturers.

Lot 357
Dinky No.189 Triumph Herald Promotional Issue finished in pale grey/lavender side panels and roof, chrome hubs. This hard to find issue is generally Near Mint still a beautiful example, comes with a Good yellow and red carded picture box with clear colour spot (one end flap is detached but present) - see photo.
Estimate: £700 - £800

  Lot 363
Dinky Pre-War No.35B (A2071) Trade Box containing 12 x Monoposto Racing Car includes 2 x cream, 2 x yellow, 2 x black, 3 x red and 3 x green. Conditions are generally Fair to Good Plus (some are showing signs of fatigue) in a Fair lift off lid base with original dividers is generally Good (does have some stains) still a bright example of a rare and hard to find set.

Lot 429
Dinky 28 Series unboxed group of 5 x Type 3 Vans (1) 'Viyella' blue; (2) 'Swan Pens'; (3) 'Yorkshire Evening Post'; (4) 'Hovis' cream and (5) 'Dunlop Tyres'. Conditions are generally Poor to Fair. (5)

  Lot 431
Dinky plus others a group which includes Public Telephone Box; Tripoteur; Streamline Fire Engine plus others. The lot also includes some non-Dinky Toys. Conditions vary from Poor to Fair. (19)

Dinky No.514 Guy 'Lyons Swiss Rolls' Van - dark blue, mid blue ridged hubs with black smooth tyres - overall condition is generally Good Plus to Excellent (couple of small marks on roof and edges) - still a bright example that displays well.

  Lot 392
Dinky No.157 Jaguar XK120 Coupe - yellow body, mid yellow ridged hubs with black smooth tyres - Near Mint beautiful example in a generally Good Plus (very slightly crushed) yellow and red carded picture box with correct colour spot.

Lot 311
Matchbox Regular Wheels a group to include No.45a Vauxhall Victor; No.50a Commer Pick-Up; No.56 Trolleybus plus others. Conditions are generally Poor to Fair including Type B Moko and Type C Lesney boxes. (28)

  Lot 564
Playcraft Slot-Car Chevrolet two-tone blue, red. Excellent (has little use) in a Good rigid perspex case.

Lot 386
Dinky No.919 Guy 'Robertson's Golden Shred' red cab, chassis and back, yellow supertoy hubs with black smooth tyres. Good Plus to Excellent (does have some small chips along protruding edges to cab roof and windscreen), still a bright example that displays well in a Good Plus blue and white striped lift off lid box.
