The sale on the 16th February comprises five Private Owner Collections:-
 
The East Sussex Collection of MarxToys, Schuco, Triang, Mettoy and other tinplate pieces.
The Fire Engine Collection is an abundance of Gift Sets, Engines, Ladders and related limited edition and collectable items.
The Lincolnshire Collection offers mainly boxed or carded Dinky, Corgi and Matchbox.
The RAH Steward Scalextric Collection is one of the finest assortments of early examples to be in auction at one time! UNMISSABLE!
The Berkshire White Metal Collectionhas boxed vehicles from Lansdowne Models, Pathfinder and Somerville amongst others. 
 
Additionally there are some wonderful tinplate items pieces from the UK, Europe, Canada and India plus an uprising of robots. Batman, James Bond, The Professionals and Hulk plus other vehicles and accessories can be found in the ever popular TV and Film segment. 
 
Lot 1449
"Canfly", professionally built 3/8" scale working model racing boat by Keith Townsend in 1982, serial number 001. Timber planked hull varnished to the waterline and red below. Fitted with a three blade brass propeller. Timber deck in black. Padded seat to the rear of cockpit. Hinged aluminium engine cover. Powered by a single cylinder four stroke water cooled engine (not tested). This is an excellent example of the work of one who is regarded by many as amongst the finest model boat makers of the 20th century. Care of construction and attention to detail are evident throughout. Length 43"/109cm. Copies of letters of provenance included: originals available from vendor on request. Some minor damage to top edge of cockpit but condition is generally Good Plus to Excellent. Includes a heavy slate and brass stand with plaque. Background: The original "Canfly" is a racing boat built in 1922 by Harry Brecker of Windermere for Mr E.H. Pattinson. It was powered by a Rolls Royce Hawk Engine from a World War I Airship. Canfly raced regularly on Windermere and was the official's boat for Sir Henry Segrave's tragic world water speed record attempt on Friday 13th June 1930, rescuing the only survivor. She is now in the care of the Windermere Steamboat Museum.

  Lot 1239
Minichamps 'Ayrton Senna' Racing Car Collection. Superb opportunity to acquire a Set of 29 pieces. Models include Mercedes 190E; Renault Turbo plus others. All are generally Mint including rigid perspex cases, carded sleeves are Excellent to Mint (some have very light scuffs), comes with correct certificate. This being No.1908/3100 plus "The Legend Ayrton Senna" Colour Brochure - see photo. (31)

Lot 1403
Triang Scalextric (France) No.MM/C64 Bentley 4.5 Litre - dark green body, red seats, tan tonneau, red spoked wheels, racing number 19 and white driver - generally Near Mint though racing numbers a little grubby - a superb example of the rarer French model in Good Plus original French hinged card box with inner card packing and reproduction instructions.

Distler (Germany) Tinplate Clockwork Crazy Car. Circa 1920?s/30?s. A rare toy with attractive detailed tinprinting, blue body with black mudguards and running boards. Yellow seat and red trunk to rear. Tinprinted driver with googly eyes. Tinplate wheels. Distler "Esdee? trademark printed to side. "2?-" price label still attached to side of bonnet. Fixed key clockwork mechanism working when tested. Length 7?/18cm. Some light surface wear but generally Good Plus.

Scalextric The R.A.H Steward Collection  
One of the best collections every to be offered of early Scalextric (including tinplate) pieces will be coming up for sale at Vectis on the 16th February.  The sale includes over 30 Scalex models including keyless, clockwork examples
which work in a similar way to friction drive toys. 
A number of early Startex, tinplate and plastic examples are to be found with track and accessories.  It is rare to find one or two examples of this grade; the R.A.H Steward Collection offers early pieces plus those of Austin Healey, Jaguar 2.4 Saloons and includes scarce boxed French examples and early plastic Bentley 4.5 litre models.
