Specialist Sale - Wednesday 25th January 2017
The Specialist Sale to be held on the 25th of January features over 660 lots, including Part 3 of The East Yorkshire Collection and over 400 lots of Specialist and Miscellaneous items. The Tinplate & Plastic section features over 130 lots of Wells, Brimtoy, Mettoy and Schuco vehicles, figures and novelty toys plus Sutcliffe boats, and a selection of robots in The North West Collection.

Dinky Toys No.3 Private Automobiles Gift Set - 2nd export issue set contains a No.36d Rover - dark blue, black chassis and ridged hubs; No.30d Vauxhall - dark brown with black chassis and ridged hubs, some paint loss to one of the front ridged hubs and small mark above rear passenger door; No.36b Bentley - dark green, black chassis and ridged hubs, some manufacturers paint loss to passenger door and top of right hand front wing; No.38a Frazer Nash BMW - mid grey, with khaki coloured seats, silver windscreen surround, black ridged hubs; No.38c Lagonda - dark green, with very dark green seats, black ridged hubs, some surface corrosion to tinplate baseplate - otherwise the contents are generally Good Plus to Excellent bright examples, all is contained in a Good Plus green, blue and brown mottled effect lift off lid card box with a Good card insert and drop down front to base, some wear to corners of lid but overall a very nice example of this scarce set.

Corgi No.191 (1/18th scale) McLaren M23 Formula 1 Racing Car "Texaco-Marlboro" - white, red, racing number 5 - this is an extremely rare issue fitted with "James Hunt" figure driver (believed to be only 1 ever produced as the vendor has this specially made by the designer and fitted) - overall condition is Mint, superb opportunity to acquire in a Excellent carded box with a Near Mint inner packing piece, also comes with accessory pack - see photo.

Triang Minic (UK) No.76M Barrage Balloon Wagon and Trailer. Very scarce 6-wheel army lorry with hand operated winch to back, together with 4-wheel trailer carrying 12 x wooden gas cylinders held down by springs. Camouflage colours. Clockwork motor working when tested. Length overall 9?/23cm. Light crease to top of cab and some paint loss to door pillars and windscreen surround. Four tyres on rear of wagon are age distorted. Winch cable replaced. Otherwise a Good Plus scarce example.

  Lot 3609
Carette (Germany) Hot Air Engine. Circa 1905. Complete with drive shaft, chimney, burner and a blue possibly celluloid, funnel. Mounted on original varnished wooden base stamped "GC & Co.N". Length of base 9.5"/24cm. Shows little sign of use. Generally Excellent in Poor original card box with remains of label to lid.

Dinky Toys No.62k "The Kings Aeroplane" - scarce pre-war example with silver wings, red/blue fuselage and engine covers, with registration number G-AEXX - Excellent Plus to Near Mint in a Good Plus early blue box with wire gliding game clip and instruction slip, the box is dated 10-38.

Dinky No.935 Leyland Octopus Flat Truck with Chains - green, grey back and flashes, red plastic hubs with black treaded tyres, tow hook - overall condition is generally Good Plus still a nice bright example in a Good yellow and red lift off lid box with detailed picture (does have some small scuffs to sides) - still a bright example that displays well - see photo.

Dinky No.60T Douglas DC3 Airliner - silver, with red tinplate propellers, includes Gliding Game hole to fuselage and pin, together with instruction slip, registration number PH-ALI - Excellent Plus to Near Mint in a Fair to Good illustrated blue card box dated 4-40.

Marklin diecast Buick Saloon - scarce example is sage green, with tinplate baseplate and bright plated front and rear bumpers and grille - some slight box rubs to roof but overall a Good Plus to Excellent example.

Tipp & Co (Germany) Boat-Tail Racing Car. Clockwork tinplate model in red and cream with detailed tinprinting. Circa 1930's. Tinprinted driver figure and balloon wheels. Racing number 2. Fixed key piano spring motor working when tested. Length 10.25"/20cm. Some light age wear and surface pitting but generally Good Plus.

Tinplate Clockwork Clown Riding Pig (Germany). Probably by Georg Fischer. Circa 1920'2. Colourfully tinprinted in red, blue, grey and yellow. Fixed key motor working when tested. Length 5"/13cm. Some light play wear but generally Good.
