The fantastic finish to the last model train sale at The Benn Hall, Rugby in November 2008 carried over to the first one held there in January 2009.

There is a small but impressive section of Pre-war Dinkys in the 28 January 2009 sale with the highlight being Set No.68 ? Camouflaged Aeroplanes. A very rare set and the first we have offered at auction. The set contains 2 x No.60S Fairy Battle Bombers, 2 x No.62D Blenheim Bombers, 3 x No.62H Hurricane, 3 x No.62E Vickers Supermarine Spitfire, No.62T Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Bomber, No.68A Armstrong Whitworth Ensign Airliner and No.68B Frobisher Liner. All have been restrung to the original box base which has a coloured pictorial label and unusual red label stating "Made in England - For Sale in the United States by "MECCANO COMPANY OF AMERICA INC", 200 - 5th Avenue ? New York"

Hornby Book of Trains - Front Cover - Original Pre
Vectis Auctions are pleased to offer three original paintings used for the 1937-38, 1938-39 and 1939-40 Front Covers of the Hornby Book of Trains. Painted by Bryan De Grineau, a very well known artist who also produced a number of LMS Posters and was an official War Artist.
