Digital Studio:

 

Simon Smith and Andrew Wilson are the Digital Department. They are responsible for producing up to three catalogues a month. This involves processing over 35,000 photographs a year. When the images are received from the photographers a certain degree of postproduction is needed to bring them up to their optimum standard for printing. They are then laid out in the relevant catalogues, ready for the printing process. This requires a high level of organization due to the strict deadlines that are imposed and the number of sales you could be working on simultaneously.
After the catalogues have been sent off to the printers all the images for the sales need resizing in quadruplicate and uploading for viewing on the Vectis Auctions website. (750,000 page views a month)
Along with answering the telephone and dealing with various queries, the Digital Department produce advertising for the Hambleton Group. The majority of advertising is for Vectis Auctions, you can see our instantly recognisable and informative adverts in many Train, Doll, Teddy Bear, Military and Diecast Collectors magazines, local Newspapers, various websites, flyers and leaflets.

When out of the office you can see Simon in the auction room, behind the computer, taking Internet bids on auction days. Andrew has been taking photographs for the auction catalogues and website for a number of years, endeavouring to show your collectables in the best light.
